Lyric baritone Daland Jones is recognized for his warm, rich tone and expressive musicality, bringing both technical refinement and emotional depth to his performances and teaching. Equally at home on operatic and concert stages, he is known for his engaging stage presence and dedication to developing the next generation of singers.
Jones holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the Manhattan School of Music. His principal teachers and mentors have included César Ulloa, Mark Oswald, Daniel Ferro, Dr. Maryann Kyle, and Marylin Mims.
He made his professional debut at age seventeen with Mississippi Opera and has since performed roles including Gastone in La Traviata, El Dancairo in Carmen, and Sem in Noye’s Fludde. As a concert soloist, he has appeared at Carnegie Hall in Schubert’s Mass in G and has performed internationally in Spain, Portugal, France, and Italy. His training has also included work with the Aspen Music Festival and the Daniel Ferro Vocal Program.
Jones currently serves as Professor of Voice at Palm Beach State College, Artist-in-Residence at Bak Middle School of the Arts. He also teaches privately at Daland Jones Studio LLC. His students have earned admission to leading institutions including the Manhattan School of Music, Boston Conservatory, Vanderbilt University, Berklee College of Music, Florida State University, and the University of Miami, with several receiving full scholarships. His students have also performed at Jazz at Lincoln Center, toured internationally, and placed in the Schmidt Vocal Competition.
Jones serves as South Florida Membership Coordinator for the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) and is a member of Opera America, the National Opera Association (NOA), and the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA).
In 2026, he will appear with Palm Beach Opera in La Bohème, The Pearl Fishers, and Rigoletto, perform as baritone soloist in John Rutter’s Mass of the Children with the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra, and join the faculty of the Ultimate International Performing Arts Festival in Ancona, Italy. He also returns for a third year as a member of the faculty of the Daniel Ferro Vocal Program.
