Jorge Chaminé’s baritone voice has brought him success on the stage from Moscow to New York through Reykjavik and Rio de Janeiro, but he is also an experienced educator who regularly gives masterclasses in Europe, Canada, Brazil and the United States. He serves as ambassador for NGO Music in Middle East and is also a permanent member of the board of Music for Peace, an organization which recognised him as a Musician for Peace in 2011. In 2018, he was made an Officer in the Order of Arts and Letters by the French government; in 2019, he received the “Grand Vermeil Medal” of the City of Paris. That same year, Jorge Chaminé was appointed Ambassador for Peace and Justice for the United Nations’ 17 “2030 NOW Goals”. Jorge Chaminé is the founder and president of the Centre Européen de Musique (CEM), a place where arts, humanities, sciences and generations meet. The CEM celebrate music as a universal language at the heart of Europe’s identity and humanistic values.
